Supporting Children in Kent with Special Educational Needs and Disability

pdnet Training and Supporting Materials

STLS PD are part of a national network of PD specialists who make up the pdnet Champions.  The work of pdnet Champions is to extend access to pdnet training and resources to schools in their area and STLS PD represent Kent and the south-east of England.

pdnet have produced online training which is free at level one - suitable for teachers and teaching assistants new to working with students with physical disability.  Level two training comes at a small cost and is a much longer course which is aimed at experienced teachers and SENDCos who want to extend their knowledge and understanding of working with PD students.  Links to the training are below.

pdnet have also produced really helpful self-evaluation tools which can be used to look at whole school access, standards and best practice for including students with physical disability.  There is also a guide to supporting secondary transition and moving on into post-16 education and the training sector.

L1 Training: Raising Awareness of Physical Disability

L2 Training: Supporting Learners with Physical Disability
