Accessing training
The STLS Sensory Service offer a range of training to school and setting professionals in Kent.
To access any of the following courses please discuss your training needs with your Specialist Teacher for Multi-Sensory Impairment or contact:

STLS Core Training Offer – Access to the Online Training International (OLT) course for Multi-Sensory Impairment. This is purchased by the STLS Sensory Service and is available to all professionals in Kent working with learners with MSI/Deafblindness.
MSI/Deafblindness Awareness Level Training – This is provided to all settings and schools with learners with MSI/Deafblindness.
Bespoke Training to School – This is provided to all settings and schools and focuses on the access needs of individual learners with MSI/Deafblindness.
NatSIP Regional Centre of Expertise MSI Course – A practical approach to supporting access to learning for children and young people with deafblindness/multi-sensory impairment. This is a five-day course over a ten-week period. Delegates on the course will have the opportunity to identify and share good practice, whilst receiving support from a mentor.
SENCO Forum Training – MSI/Deafblind awareness training sessions of one hour are available to be provided at SENCO/ EY SENCO Forums.
Sensory Link Forum – Two training days are provided by the STLS Sensory Service annually. These events include specialist input from external speakers on meeting the needs of children with Sensory Impairment and Profound, Severe and Complex Learning Needs. This training is open to those special schools supporting the Sensory Link Approach.
