These three modules on supporting children and young people with fine motor difficulties affecting their recording and access to practical lessons provide lots of practical advice to overcome barriers to success.  The modules are divided up by age group and types of solutions.  At the bottom of this page you will find advice on Access Arrangements for exams and formal assessments in KS1 and KS2.  You can download these to read and print off for reference.

This first module talks in depth about the early stages of handwriting development, some of the difficulties and strategies to support children who find it very difficult to physically manage writing.  There is a workbook at the bottom of this page with activities to support your knowledge which you should download before watching the video
